Archipiélago Síquico I y II. Abstract Art
I am one of those who believe that Jesús Lara has not changed. On the contrary, in his work we could observe a surer step -of maturing previous ideas, from a long time ago- towards experimentation in areas of an aspect that became latent in his pictorial work: that of the sculptural three-dimensionality, independently of the one that presents itself to us, perhaps already, with a majority of age. La Acacia gallery has served as a test piece for this step (I do not say «change»), by exhibiting his most recent alchemy, called In Vitro.
His paintings could be the usual ones in terms of intentions (the dialogue that takes place between the forms and the artist’s own questioning towards the most introspective reflection, towards the areas of the deepest psyche): apparent landscapes that are confused in figurations from the very structure of values, lines and the austere palette (already characteristic in Lara) of its colors, which thus seek the trope, the poetry itself, to not only establish that communication previously said, but also with a spectator who will have that go beyond the simple and comfortable contemplative attitude. New formats, new dispositions, new orientations, transformations -perhaps- to give rise to a more elaborate plastic poem. (Antonio Fernández Seoane, crítica en CMBF. 2008)
