Study for still life I

At the beginning of the decade, the artist tests techniques, styles, supports and palettes. Various studies appear here, including still life, and later on he began a progressive abandonment of figurative language. In the poetic counterpart (the first collection of poems of her Quien eres tu, God of magod ?, written in 1991) they attest to how Lara Sotelo assumed the decade of the 90s from an open and unprejudiced vision. The works do not intend to abandon themselves to aesthetic delight, but function as an instrument of philosophical investigation that delves into the most pressing problems of the moment, trying to offer a way out through a change of attitude in the reader, that is, in the human being.

 

Para inicios de la década el artista prueba técnicas, estilos, soportes y paletas. Aparecen aquí diversos estudios, entre ellos del bodegón, y más tarde comenzará un progresivo abandono del lenguaje figurativo. En la contraparte poética ( su primer poemario Quién eres tú, God de magod?, escrito en 1991) dan fe de cómo Lara Sotelo asumió la década de los años 90 desde una visión abierta y desprejuiciada. Las obras no pretenden abandonarse al deleite estético, sino que funcionan como un instrumento de investigación filosófica que se adentra en los problemas más acuciantes del momento tratando de ofrecer una salida mediante el cambio de actitud en el lector, esto es, en el ser humano.
