Bird VII. Painting
Piece from his first exhibition I refer to man (1989) and was exhibited in the Gallery of the House of Culture in Centro Habana. In it, the searches for a language of expression stand out, a dalliance that was showing symptoms of taking advantage of the artistic legacy of the European avant-garde of the 20th century. I am talking about Picasso’s Cubism in the treatment of planes, the abstract expressionism of Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline in his scathing and violent brushstrokes, as well as Antonio Tapia’s material painting when the support manages to transcend its state to signify a deep analysis of the human condition.
Pieza de su primera exposición Me refiero al hombre y fue expuesta en la Galería de la Casa de la Cultura de Centro Habana. En ella destacan las búsquedas de un lenguaje de expresión, devaneo que fue mostrando síntomas de aprovechamiento del legado artístico de la vanguardia europea del siglo XX. Hablo del Cubismo de Picasso en el tratamiento de los planos, el expresionismo abstracto de un Willem de Kooning y de Franz Kline en sus mordaces y violentas pinceladas, también de la pintura matérica de Antonio Tapia cuando el soporte logra trascender su estado para significar un profundo análisis de la condición humana.
