Altarpiece: What did not stay in the body.

En 2010 reconstruí un fragmento de mí mismo -no desde la pintura, sino desde la prenda-. No era arte textil: era arte visceral, del que no teme arrastrar con él todo lo que fue indecente o inapropiado guardar.

El retablo se alza como un altar profano, tejido no por devoción religiosa sino por necesidad emocional. Lo que la mente no logra descartar, el arte lo convierte en forma. Por eso esta pieza no está hecha de materiales: está hecha de exilios íntimos.

En cada doblez hay una tregua rota, en cada pespunte una decisión no tomada. Es la historia de los cuerpos no vividos en voz alta.

In 2010, I reconstructed a fragment of myself—not through painting, but through clothing. It wasn’t textile art: it was visceral art, unafraid to drag with it everything that was indecent or inappropriate to keep.

The altarpiece stands like a profane altar, woven not out of religious devotion but out of emotional necessity. What the mind cannot discard, art transforms into form. That’s why this piece isn’t made of materials: it’s made of intimate exiles.

In every fold, there is a broken truce, in every stitch, a decision not made. It is the story of bodies not experienced aloud.
